Donegal Bay Kitesurf Crossing in Aid of St. Johns

Donegal Bay Kitesurf Crossing, Friday 8th May 2009.

A group of kitesurfers from around Ireland, but mainly Sligo locals, are crossing Donegal Bay for The Garden Room Project, which is to go ahead at St. Johns hospital in Sligo. Its basically an extension to the hospital that will help improve the quality of life for the hospitals residents.

We have been planning this 25km/16mile crossing for months now and after the weather didnt play ball for our first proposed date, it now looks like our second date may just work out. This Friday 8th, a group of 14 kitesurfers will make the first kite crossing of the bay from Streedagh Beach to Fintra Strand, just west of killybegs, with the support of a number of volunteer boats and the Sligo RNLI.

If anyone wants to donate (ya i know, here he feckin goes again!) feel free to send me a pm!

Wish us luck! Wink
